Samsung is reportedly working on the successor of Galaxy Watch. DroidLife website claims to have spotted the upcoming Galaxy Watch models on FCC’s website. As per the alleged listing four new models of Galaxy Watch are on their way. The FCC listing also reveals model numbers and some connectivity details about the upcoming Samsung smartwatch.
As per the FCC listing, the watch will come in both LTE as well as Wi-Fi variants. As for size, it is likely to be available in two sizes — 45mm and 41mm. The model number for LTE variants are reported to be: SM-R845U and SM-R855U for 45mm and 41mm respectively; while the model number for Wi-Fi variants are SM-840 and SM-R850 for 45mm and 41mm sizes.
This suggests that the upcoming smartwatch from Samsung will feature LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as the connectivity options. The FCC wireless reports confirm that the watch will feature Bluetooth Low Energy, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only), WCDMA, and LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 25, 26, 66, and 71. Also, the details printed on the alleged image of SM R845 indicates Gorilla Glass DX screen protection, 5ATM water protection and MIL-STD01-8190G and GPS.
The FCC listing does not reveal other details or the design of the upcoming Galaxy Watch. However, SamMobile claims that the next-generation watch from Samsung will bring back the old rotating dial from the original Galaxy Watch. It will also come in Titanium variant alongside the usual aluminium and stainless steel variants.
The Galaxy Watch is expected to launch with Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold in August this year.
